Helicopter conventions

Vocabulary:

The corners

The centers

The colors of the faces:

The colors shown in the diagrams are identical to those of the original Helicopter.

The gray color indicates that the color present in this location is of no interest for the exercise. This is much easier to understand.

Examples:

If I tell you that only the second layer remains to be made, it is easier to understand with this diagram:

Rather than with this one:

The movements:

They are noted in English because it is the international convention.

This is a 60° movement looking at the edge in question.

The following examples show rotating 60° clockwise then counterclockwise, and then 180° clockwise then counterclockwise.

Examples:

?-Up

Top edge
?-Down

Bottom edge
?-Forehead

Front edge
?-Back

Right-?

The jumbling move:

The jumbling move allows the central elements to be placed in other orbits,
All the elements on top and in front of you also move, so they are also used for other algorithms.

There are 2 types:

Type 1 - The 'right' jumbling move

Use the following algorithm: JR = RU LF FU3 RU' LF':

Type 2 - The 'left' jumbling move

Use the following algorithm: JL = LU' RF' FU3' LU RF:

We can see that the 2 corners have been inverted but also 2 central elements, the latter remaining on the same orbit.
